Olusosun Landfill Located in Ojota is the biggest repository of wastes in Lagos, and indeed Nigeria receiving more than 50 per cent of the 9,000 metric tonnes of solid waste generated daily in the state. The complaints of many people living around here get louder everyday; each of them talking of the health hazards of this landfill. But it is also a source of income to many people.

Preying on other people’s waste is no doubt dirty. With recycling, however, scavenging especially in Lagos as in some other parts of the globe is fast becoming lucrative.
