President Goodluck Jonathan has launched an energy saving bulb aimed at effectively managing and conserving the consumption of power.

Speaking at the launch, which took place before the weekly federal executive council meeting in Abuja, the president said it is part of the transformation agenda of the administration which encourages Nigerians to begin to patronise made in Nigeria products.

The energy efficient bulbs will also ensure the exact provision of  illumination needed in rooms in a bid to encourage energy conservation.

“A 60 watts bulb could be replaced by a 10 watts bulb or a 12 watts bulb and in some cases a 5 watts bulb depending on the type of technology employed” he explained.

The president  compared Nigeria to other parts of the world and called on the citizens to begin to conserve  electricity consumption which will let them pay less for what they consume.
