Orlu town in the Orlu local government area of Imo state is in the process wearing a new face as the Governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha is fulfilling parts of the promises he made to the people of Imo state and Orlu indigenes; The promise of rehabilitation which although will be painstaking for some indigenes of the Orlu because plans of demolition of some structures, illegal structures by the roadside will demolished, but Governor Rochas Okorocha has promised to adequately compensate victims whose houses and shops were demolished in order to give way for the construction of better road network in Orlu Local Government area of Imo state.
The Governor expressed this while on a scheduled inspection to Orlu local government area of the state to assess the state of work done on the road construction in the area.
He however expressed satisfaction with the level of work done on site by the contractors.
However, indigenes have commended the Governor for this giant stride in ensuring that the town is beautified but what troubles them now is way they will be compensated in terms of good accommodations and business places . They called on the Governor to expedite action to fulfil his promise of adequate compensation.
Apart from the road construction, the Okorocha-led administration has also promised to build a 5-star hotel, Modern General Hospital, Computerized and Modern Primary schools and develop the tourist attractions in Orlu Local Government area in order to make it a millennium city.
