Euro 2012 winners; Spain has notched itself to the top of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Rankings which was released on Wednesday after successfully defending its title at Euro 2012.

The impact of the European Championship were felt in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Rankings which will have its next edition released on Wednesday, August 8th as countries like Portugal went up 5 places to occupy 5th position, Germany notching up 1 place to stay at 2nd position while England went up 2 places to take the 4th position.

Euro 2012 finalists, Italy went up 6 places to occupy 6th position moving the country into the top 10.

The Orange Boys slumped badly despite being favourites into the EURO 2012 as they were shown the way out early in the competition and it really cost them their position in the rankings table after  sliding down 4 places to occupy 8th position.

Brazil fell out of the top 10 rankings and slumped to the 11th position; its lowest position ever since the start of the FIFA rankings as they went down 6 places.

Other notable rise and drop in rankings are Czech Republic moving up 9 places to stay at the 18th position, Ecuador at 27th spot moving up 9 places, Korea Republic occupying the 28th position after moving in giant strides like Ecuador over the past month as Chile dropped 4 places to manage 15th position, Republic of Ireland went down 8 places to stay at the 26th position, Ghana went down 8 places to stay at the 33rd position and lastly the United States of America now occupying  the 36th position after slumping  8 places .
