The friendly game between Nigeria’s Falconets and their Ghana counterparts will still take place on Thursday 2nd of August 2012 in Accra Ghana as planned, the NFF board confirmed this.

The fear of the friendly cancellation was nursed after the unexpected demise of President John Attah Mills; the President of Ghana, who has been confirmed, died of cardiac arrest.

The board said that they were informed by the Ghana FA that the game will still be played on Thursday.

NFF also said the girls were spoken to move on and not think about the previous loss that they should prep themselves for the game(s) ahead.

Nigeria and Ghana will be representing Africa at next month’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan.

Falconets lost the first fixture played on Tuesday 3-2 and it would be Nigeria’s first loss at the age grade category to one of its bitter rivals.
