Following the attack and killing of worshippers in a Deeper Life Church in Okene on Monday, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar has ordered a 24-hour surveillance on all places of worship and other vulnerable areas in Okene and other parts of the state.

The Deputy Force Public Relations officer CSP Frank Mba who briefed journalists in Abuja on Tuesday added that the IGP has also ordered the immediate deployment of additional units of Police Mobile Force personnel from other Squadrons to beef up the security arrangement in Kogi state.

The IGP also appealed for calm, promising that the perpetrators of the crime will certainly not go unpunished.

He advised the general public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement to the police or any security agency.
