A total of nine additional districts would be created by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration through a land swap model, FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed said on Monday.

He spoke in Abuja at the Good Governance Town Hall Meeting tagged `Citizens Forum’.

Mr Mohammed said the nine districts to be created included Ketti North, Ketti East, Sheretti Ketti, Sheretti Chechi, Waru, Kpozaika, Burum West, and Gwagwa.

He said the FCT Administration would provide land in the greenfield districts to developers to embark on real estate development.

The Minister said the financial and technical costs of providing the primary infrastructure in the districts would be entirely borne by the developers.

Mr Mohammed said that other Public Private Partnership arrangements would be adopted to expedite development in the other districts being embarked upon by the FCTA.

On the citizens’ forum, the FCT Minister said that his administration would welcome criticisms and suggestions on its programmes and policies from members of the public.

He said officials of the FCTA would incorporate the views of participants at the forum, in the development of the territory and that the town hall meeting would help the administration of the territory to address some issues in the management of Abuja.

“This forum is aimed at generating feedback from the members of the public on what we have being doing and plan to do in the FCT.

“We will certainly welcome your suggestions and we will take them into consideration as we plan the development of the city.’’

Mr Mohammed urged citizens to come up with valuable suggestions on some of the projects visited by the National Good Governance Tour team recently.
