Over 100 protesters today, stormed the National Assembly demanding compensation for what they described as the illegal demolition of over 500 houses by the officials of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The protesters, who gathered as the Coalition of Minanuel Estate Subscribers Union, disrupted the flow of traffic into the National Assembly waving placards and banners, said their homes should be returned.

The spokesman of the union, Barrister Festus Adebayo, said the demolition was carried out without notice or warning.

The protesters said their rights had been violated and called on the leadership of the National Assembly to investigate the matter.
