The Inspector General of Police Abubakar Mohammed says the Nigeria Police will not take it lightly with anyone found with arms or breaching the security of lives and property during the Ondo state governorship elections on Saturday.
Abubakar who was in the Presidential Villa for a meeting with Vice President Namadi Sambo on the funding of the Nigeria Police Reform Programme said he had embarked on a tour of Ondo state and deployed police officers to ensure that the elections were conducted in a rancour free atmosphere.
The Inspector General of Police who came on board six months ago expressed satisfaction with the federal government’s passion and desire to move the police force forward hence the need for the meeting on police funding.
