A Legal practitioner, Liborous Oshoma on Tuesday said the Federal Government was not out to achieve anything with the outcome of the Nuhu Ribadu-led committee, looking at the timeframe given to the committee.

According to the lawyer, who was a guest on Channels Television’s programme, Sunrise Daily, information available to him from some senior staff of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corp (NNPC) suggested that for such committee to come out with a detailed report, it will take more than the given timeframe allotted it.

It would be recalled that the Petroleum Revenue Task Force headed by former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was given 60 days initially to conclude its work which included ensuring that oil companies and marketers do not short-change the government in petroleum deals. It however took about eight months for the committee to submit its report to President Goodluck Jonathan.
