The Joint Task Force in Damaturu the Yobe state capital paraded five members of a syndicate that specializes in duping innocent members of the public of various sums of money on the pretense of facilitating the release of their loved ones in JTF custody.

Parading the suspects, the spokesman of the JTF in Yobe state, Lieutenant Eli Lazarus said the syndicate normally cash in on the periodic release of screened suspects by the force.

Luck, he said, however ran out for the syndicates when the release of one of the suspects in JTF’s custody could not be secured, causing their relatives to promptly alert the JTF and members of the syndicate were arrested.

He therefore advised members of the public whose relatives were arrested by the Force to desist from offering money to anybody to facilitate the release of their suspects in JTF custody, pointing out that the force do not release arrested suspects on bail nor collect money from anybody to effect such releases.

“All screened suspects who have no case to answer are released unconditionally and for the avoidance of doubt, JTF does not grant bail to anybody.
