Unidentified gunmen on Sunday attacked a Divisional Police Station in Isa local government area of Sokoto state.
According to eyewitnesses, several armed men stormed the police station early Sunday morning.
The gunmen reportedly shot into the air for several minutes while the attack lasted.
It is however not clear if there was any resistance by the police, neither has there been any confirmation of casualties.
Law enforcement agencies and military officers have been targets of attacks by gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram sect in the northern parts of the country.
