Eghes Eyieyen, an Economist has alleged that operations in the Nigerian Ports are the worst in West Africa when compared with other cities in the sub-region, which have more efficient system of clearing goods.

Mr Eyieyen made this known on our breakfast programme; Sunrise Daily, where he lamented the inefficacy that has crippled the system despite a myriad of reforms carried out by the government for the maritime sector.

According to him, another problem in Nigeria is that people don’t get punished for not doing the right thing, adding that the call for mass sack in the nation’s civil service should not just be about figures but for the urgent need to imbibe efficiency.
