The Bayelsa State government has joined a teaming number of Nigerians to mourn the death of the Kaduna State governor, Dr. Patrick Yakowa and former National Security Adviser (NSA) Gen. Andrew Azazi.

The sad incident happened on Saturday at Tombi area of Okoroba Community, Nembe Local Governmnet Area of Bayelsa State while returning from a funeral ceremony of the father (Late Pa Douglas) to the Special Adviser to the president on Research and Documentation.

In a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon Markson Fefegha, he stated that The Bayelsa State Government also wish to condole with the  family of the immediate past National Security Adviser and the Chairman of Bayelsa State Post Flood Management Committee, General Andrew Oweye Azazi who was among the passengers on board, in the ill-fated helicopter crash.

Our heartfelt condolence also goes to the families of the personal security aides to both Chief Yakowa and General Azazi as well as the pilots of the helicopter.

The vacuum created by the demise of these notable personalities will be difficult to fill noting their contributions to the growth of not only their respective states but the Country as a whole.
