Jonathan’s laissez faire attitude to governance enhances crisis with NASS

Mr Ikechuchwu Ikeji, a lawyer explains how President Goodluck Jonathan’s laissez faire attitude to governance is responsible for the crisis plaguing the two arms of government despite being dominated by members of the same political parties.

According to Mr Ikeji, this disagreement is healthy for the nation’s democracy as the national assembly must be seen and indeed, carry out their constitutional attitude of checks and balances of the executive.

He claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s dictatorial tendencies were responsible for the over-bearing influence the former President had on the National Assembly.
