The Kano state government has commissioned 37 new Micro-Finance Banks (MFBs) to make funds easier for small scale businesses.
This brings the number of MFB’s in the state to 44.
The banks are expected to create more than 740 direct job opportunities in addition to various openings that will emerge when the banks start full operations.
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, said the CBN’s decision to relax the guidelines establishing micro finance banks is to help compliment state governments efforts to empower women and youth.
