British folk band Mumford & Sons said bassist Ted Dwane has recovered well enough from brain surgery to appear with them this weekend at Glastonbury.

The Grammy-award winning band cancelled a series of U.S. concerts during a North American tour earlier this month after doctors discovered a blood clot on the surface of Dwane’s brain which required immediate surgery.

The band said in an interview published today that Dwane will be on stage when they play their headline show at the sold-out Glastonbury festival on Sunday.

His progress was also confirmed by the group’s banjo player Winston Marshall who took to twitter to keep fans updated.

He wrote: ‘Ted is recovering nicely from surgery. He’s a brave little boy. Thanks for all your support. We are very grateful.’

Following the announcement his band mates Marcus Mumford and Winston were seen out and about in Austin Texas alongside Marcus’ wife – actress Carey Mulligan.

The Great Gatsby star, 28, was seen wearing a skirt and sandals as she put a reassuring arm around her 26-year-old husband.
