Actors’ Guild Crisis: I Won AGN Election, You Can’t Frustrate Me, Osuagwu Tells Opponents

Comedian, Victor Osuagwu has said that he is the bonafide Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and that anyone else parading himself as chairman is doing so at their own risk.

In an exclusive interview with Channels Television, Mr Osuagwu said he won the keenly contested election for the chairmanship of the Lagos AGN.
“If there is anyone coming to claim that he is the chairman, it is embarrassing,” he said.

On Saturday, June 15, 2013, Mr Osuagwu was declared winner of the Lagos AGN election at the capacity filled Remi Tinubu Hall of the Surulere Local Government, Lagos with 80 votes as against Pedro Aganbi’s 69 votes.

A group of actors is currently challenging the election of Mr Osuagwu as the Chairman of the Lagos AGN.

The group consists of aggrieved members unhappy with the Lagos AGN election that brought Mr Osuagwu into power.

Prominent amongst them are Emeka Rollas, Frank Dallas, Mathias Obiahagbon, Paul Obazele and Pedro Aganbi who lost to Mr Osuagwu in the hotly disputed election.
