The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has appointed and sworn in 16 new permanent secretaries in the Imo State Civil Service.

During the swearing in ceremony at the Sam Mbakwe expanded EXCO chamber at the government house in owerri, the imo state capital, the governor said the appointment of the permanent secretaries was based on merit and antecedents.

He however charged the newly appointed permanent secretaries to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and commitment to duty noting that to whom much is given much is expected.

Governor Okorocha also said even as they have gotten to the peak of their career as a civil servant, they should ensure that they contribute meaningfully to the development of the civil service.

Expressing their heartfelt gratitude, on behalf of the newly sworn in permanent secretaries, Mrs Ngozi Nwalozie promised that the new set of permanent secretaries will be productive and dedicated to service and will also contribute their own quota to the realisation of the rescue mission agenda of the Okorocha led administration.

Okorocha also urged them to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and ensure that their tenure as permanent secretaries in their various ministries will bring about positive change in the state civil service.

Okorocha is expected to carry out a minor reshuffle of his state executives commissioners, special advisers and special assistants within a short period of time.
