The German capital, Berlin became the 10th city to be named as a host for the new Formula E Championship, an FIA racing series pioneering the use of fully-electric high performance racing cars.

Berlin is only the third city in Europe to be chosen as one of the ten host cities.

Ten teams, each with two drivers, will take part in the competitions, now scheduled to start in September 2014.

The other nine cities involved are London, Rome, Los Angeles, Miami, Beijing, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Putrajaya and Bangkok.
