Victims of the October 2012 bomb blast at Saint Rita’s Catholic Church, Badarawa, Kaduna, have lamented that close to one year after the incident, they are yet to receive any form of assistance from the state government.

The victims made the complaint when the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JPDC) of Kaduna catholic arch diocese made cash donations to them at the church premises on Monday.

Presenting the donation on-behalf of the Archbishop of the diocese, Mathew Ndagoso, the Vicar General, Reverend Father Bulus Lucas described the terror attack as tragic and assault to an entire faith.

He said the attackers apparently don’t want peace and unity to reign in the country but expressed gratitude to God that the affected victims are gradually recovering from the attack.

Members of the church and the entire residents of Badarawa area in Kaduna metropolis were thrown into mourning on October 28, last year when a suspected suicide bomber rammed a car ladened with explosive devices into the church, killing four persons instantly and injuring several others.

They told our correspondent that they have not received any form of assistance from government, pointing out that the cash donation made by the JPDC is the first time they are receiving an assistance from anybody or group.
