400 youths have graduated from Abia State SURE P ultra-modern skill acquisition centre.

The programme which is part of the strategy and action plan of the administration to alleviate poverty, reduce unemployment, and boost economic development, also empowered graduands with start-up capital and equipment to make them self-employed.

At the graduation ceremony which held at the centre in Umuahia, Governor Theodore Orji stressed that the programme is expected to help government reduce unemployment as the graduates are sent forth with an initial business capital and equipment like beauty kits, sewing machines, computer and printers, agro allied feeds for fishery and poultry farming among others.

The skill acquisition training centre was facilitated by the wife of the Abia State Governor, Mercy Orji, in line with federal government agenda of SURE-P for impacting lives.

Graduates underwent trainings in various vocational skills and were placed in different organisations for internship with a monthly stipend of N10,000 throughout the duration of the training
