Governor Wada gave this assurance when he received delegates from the World Bank in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

A high powered delegation from the world’s premier bank visited Lokoja to meet the executives of Kogi State to agree and make official what they believe would be a fruitful partnership.

While speaking, World Bank Country Director, Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly said that the World Bank had entered into partnership with the State Government in the areas of crop processing, HIV sensitisation and better budget execution.

She said that the projects were designed to reduce poverty at the grassroots and stressed the need for government to ensure improved productivity and provision of more infrastructure in order to drive development in the state.

She also advised the Kogi State Government to apply to the World Bank so as to be among the beneficiaries of the Erosion Management Fund being provided by the bank.

Governor Idris Wada embraced the initiative and emphasized how much of a boost the proposed partnership will bring to the economy of the state. He also promised that the government would be fully committed in partnership with the World Bank in order to improve its agriculture, infrastructural development and erosion management.

At the end of the meeting, the World Bank team accompanied by the Governor and his deputy, inspected the youths who have been empowered under the State Government’s Youth Advancement and Development Programme, YAD 4 Kogi.
