The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House of Representatives have pledged their loyalty to the party, saying they are now more united and determined to work for the party.

After a meeting between the PDP lawmakers and the leadership of the party which took place in Abuja on Friday morning, the lawmakers expressed happiness that the issues that had been of concern to them were treated.

The meeting, coming a few days after the party lost its majority hold in the house with 37 of its members defecting to the opposition, All Progressives Congress, had governors in attendance.

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Mulikat Akande-Adeola, said that the lawmakers were happy with the outcome of the meeting, as many of their concerns were addressed.

“It was a family meeting well attended. Most of the issues that were brought to the fore were properly addressed.

“You could see from their faces that the members are very happy and satisfied.

“Going forward, I can tell you that PDP is still going to be the strongest party in Nigeria,” she said.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Bamanga Tukur, expressed confidence that the party had become stronger and still a big family.

“We are good party and a family. I thank them for coming together. The spirit of Christmas is already pervading our party’” Tukur said.

“The resolution reached at the meeting appear clear but is one that will surely be tested in the coming days, not only in the House of Representatives but also in the Senate,” Channel’s correspondent,” Lanre Lasisi, said.
