Gov Dickson BayelsaThe Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has announced the scrapping of the Ministry of Capital City Development and the splitting of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, and the Ministry of Energy.

This is sequel to the sacking of seven of his commissioners in March 2014, who have since been replaced.

The implication of the reorganization of the ministries is that the commissioners of the former Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, Mr. James Dugo and Barrister Zuwa Konuga of the Capital City Development have been relieved of their positions as members of the State Executive Council.

This development, like the one in March, was said to be part of the ongoing efforts at re-organizing and repositioning Ministries, Departments and Agencies for optimal performance and delivery of the restoration agenda of the Governor Seriake Dickson led administration.

The Governor thanked them for their services to the Government and people of the State and wished them well, assuring them that, they could still be called upon to serve the State in other capacities in the future.

The Bayelsa State Government had said during the March sacking of commissioners that the reorganisation of the machinery of Government for improved service delivery in the execution of government programmes and policies as well as the redeployment of relevant officers would be a continuous exercise in the state.
