Increased productivity is very vital for the health of a nation because it helps to improve the conditions of the environment, enhance security and improve the living standards of its citizens.
In continuation with the conversation on the forthcoming World Economic Forum on Africa on Business Morning, the importance of national productivity strategy was brought to the fore.
School of Productivity, Mr Remi Dairo and Mr Bashir Muse, a business coach, believe there is an urgent need to develop the mindset of Nigerians, especially the youth to learn not to get into employment solely because of how much money they can make, but how much it will enhance their capacity.
According to them, the Federal Government has a major role to play but with support from state and local governments.
While calling for the inclusion of productivity classes in schools to prepare the minds of the young ones ahead of the future, they also asked the Federal Government to focus more on developing the SMEs particularly in the rural areas.
This according to them would lead to increased productivity and economic development.
