Nyanya Park AbujaThe National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) has confirmed the death of ten people  from the bomb blast that happened in Nyanya Abuja. The agency said several people were also injured in the blast and have been taken to various hospitals in the FCT.

The bomb, which exploded some metres from the scene of the blast that occurred on the 14th of April, was said to have exploded at about 8:20PM from a white Golf Volkswagen vehicle.

Previous Story: Reports reaching us now says that an explosion has rocked Nyanya in Abuja. An explosion had rocked the Nyanya Park at about 7.00 a.m on the 14th of April 2014 killing scores and injuring many.

The casualty level is not yet confirmed, but a number of people are said to have died and security operatives have taken over the area.

Security and response agencies have urged people living around the area to restrict their movement and allow security personnel access to the area.
The severity and degree of the explosion is yet to be confirmed. NEMA officials and police are currently controlling traffic around the area.
Channels Television’s Paul Nwachukwu reports that the explosion took place at about 8:20PM close to the scene of the last explosion.

The explosives, like in the first blast, were also contained in white Golf Volkswagen vehicle.

He also reports that security operatives are trying to defuse two bomb-laden cylinders to avoid another explosion.

The Comptroller-General of the National Security and Civil Defence Corp, Dr Ade Abolurin confirmed to Channels Television that some casualties have been taken to the Asokoro General Hospital, though he could not confirm the figure.

Nwachukwu also reports that cars around the area have been cleared from the scene of the blast as the area is densely populated
