Justice-OputaThe indigenes of Oguta town in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, village of late Justice Chuwkudifu Oputa, has called on the Federal and State governments to put in place a National and befitting burial for the late Jurist who’s exemplary life has contributed to the development of the Oguta people.

Speaking to Channels Television crew during a visit to the community on Sunday, the people also appealed to the government to construct a lasting edifice and infrastructure in the community that would be named after the late Jurist which will also serve as a way if immortalising one of their greatest and influential son.

The people of Oguta community as well as the state government has described the late justice Oputa as a worthy son of the state and a fine Jurist whose exemplary life had helped people in life

Meanwhile, the State government has revealed plans to give him a state burial and also facilitate the establishment of some infrastructure to immortalise the legal Icon

Late Justice Chuwkudifu Oputa was a former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a Legal Icon of international repute is said to be one of the greatest achievers and high profiled scholar that has ever come out of Oguta community.

It is hoped that this call by his people will awaken the government in ensuring that a befitting burial is given to him and structures are put in place to immortalise him.
