Gov Babangida-Aliyu-480x300The Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has urged Nigerians to work towards the continuous existence of Nigeria adding that this is not negotiable.

The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, in an Eid-el-Fitri message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Israel Ebije, prayed that the celebration would usher the country into a peaceful era where all Nigerians are safe.

He urged Nigerians not to be worried about the security challenges in the country, intimating that it was an ugly phase and like all artificial trends, would soon be a thing of the past. He added that the prevailing security challenges in Nigeria calls for patriotic citizenship.

“Nigeria is a great country and we must ensure that it continues on the path of greatness by making sure that we all believe in ourselves again. I urge every well-meaning Nigerian to be security vigilant. We must put an end to the malaise, we must say no to violence. Violence is never part of our culture.

“We have seen the direction security challenges has plunged Nigeria to. It is therefore important that we join hands towards removing the very few evil minded Nigerians who are responsible for terrorism. We must sustain the corporate existence of Nigeria.”

The Chairman of the NSGF, while calling on Nigerians to use the festive period to reflect on Nigeria’s missed opportunities and project into a better future, prayed Allah grants those who have lost their lives on account of terrorism Aljana Firdaus.

He also urged Nigerians to continue praying for the return of the abducted Chibok girls.
