Nigeria-FECThe Federal Executive Council has appealed to Nigerians no matter where they come from to donate their widows’ mite to the Victims Support Fund scheduled to be launched on Thursday at the Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa.

Briefing State House correspondents on the outcome of the council meeting, the Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, said that the private sector, international foundations, funding agencies and all Nigerians must partake in the fund raising ceremony to cushion the effects of terror in the country.

“You will recall that about two weeks ago, the President formally inaugurated the committee which will be managing this fund and which is chaired by our most respected General TY Danjuma.

“This fundraising tomorrow will enable all Nigerians to contribute to help our less fortunate citizens, who have unfortunately fallen victim to the activities of insurgents and terrorists particularly in the northern part of the country”, he said.

The Federal Executive Council is confident that the Chairman of the Fund Rising Committee, General Danjuma and his members would unveil the different methods through which they will reach every Nigerian to contribute to the fund raising.
