Goods worth millions of Naira have been intercepted by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone A, Lagos State.
Speaking after an inspection of the goods, the deputy comptroller in charge of the unit, Usman Turaki, said the action was based on a tip-off that three coaches of train where fully laden with smuggled textile materials from Kano to Lagos state.
Mr Turaki lamented the use of the recently revived rail transport system to perpetuate the economic crime and asked Nigerians to desist from smuggling.
