The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Sudan 3-1 in an African Nations Cup qualifier at the National Stadium Abuja to restore their hopes of qualifying for the biennial tournament in Morocco.
CSKA Moscow’s Ahmed Musa opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 47th minute but Sudan equalised nine minutes later through Sallah Ibrahim.
Aaron Samuel then restored Nigeria’s lead in the 66th minute before Musa completed the route with his second of the game in the 87th minute.
The African champions now leapfrog Sudan to third place in Group A with two games to go.
