APCA meeting of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has held in Kaduna, north west Nigeria.

Among those in attendance at the meeting were the three foremost aspirants vying for the presidential ticket of the party in next year’s election.

They are former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and the Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

It was gathered that the discussions centered on how to reach a consensus on which of the major aspirants the party would present as its flag bearer for the presidential election in 2015.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, was the first aspirant to declare his intention to run for President, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), come 2015.

Atiku, who made his intentions known during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, September 24, espoused his passion for education and youth development, highlighting several issues bedeviling the nation, noting that the current government “is not really doing the fixing”.

“I have what it takes to bring people together and turn things around for better”, he said.

Atiku, who was Vice President under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s two tenures (1999-2007), said his decision to run for Presidency was born out of the need for good governance.

Former Nigerian Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, made his declaration on Wednesday, October 15, before a large gathering of APC members at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

The former Head of State said he would tackle issues of insecurity, corruption, unemployment and power generation among others, if elected.
