Ahead of the 2015 Imo governorship elections, aspirants from various parties have been declaring their intention to run for the number one seat in the state.
The latest of such declaration is coming from a two-time Senate member representing Imo East senatorial district, Senator Chris Anyanwu of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
During her declaration, amidst a crowd of supporters in Owerri the Imo State capital, Senator Chris Anyanwu said that she was the right person to lead Imo into the promise land as she would bring to bare exemplary leadership and ensure that democratic governance prevails in the state.
In her speech, tagged “Imolites The Time Has Come”, she expressed outright displeasure over the state of Imo State’s economy under the Okorocha-led administration.
She said that as the best man for the job, she would offer strategic leadership which would set Imo State back on track and also lift the state to a higher level of advancement and development.
She, however, hinged on the cliche that ‘what a man can do a woman can do better’ as she clearly stated that her gender would not stop her from achieving her vision and mission to become Imo State Governor come 2015.
Having purchased the governorship form, Senator Chris Anyanwu, being the only female governorship aspirant, has joined 21 other aspirants in the governorship race in the state under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
