Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Hassan Karma, has commiserated with the family of Mr Felix Nwoke, who was allegedly shot by a police officer last week Thursday in Okpoko.
Mr Karma assured them that preliminary investigation would be fast tracked so that the body of the victim would be released for burial while thorough investigation would continue.
He gave an assurance of justice in the matter, adding that whoever was found guilty would be made to face the full wrath of the law, irrespective of the person’s status.
Mr Nwoke, who was a commercial motorcycle rider with a wife and two children hailed from Ogbunka in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state. He was mistakenly hit by a bullet allegedly shot by a policeman who was pursuing a bus.
Responding on behalf of the family of the slain motorcycle rider, Mr Stephen Ibebuike expressed satisfaction over the visit by the Anambra State Police Commissioner and appealed that justice be dispensed accordingly and in time while reiterating their confidence in the Nigerian Police, especially, the Anambra State Command.
No arrests had been made as preliminary investigation was still ongoing.
