HIV cureThe United States Charge D’affaires in Nigeria, Maria Brewer says Nigeria can achieve an aids free generation if it focuses the highest impact interventions available on key geographic areas and reaching the most vulnerable populations.

Missus Brewer said the United States government has committed more than $3.5 billion dollars to fighting HIV/Aids since 2004 with a great measure of progress including six hundred thousand on-going HIV treatment centres in Nigeria, adding that these efforts will be reviewed upwards yearly.

She said such strong partnerships have seen HIV infections drop by half the world over, since the peak of the epidemic but is not yet controlled despite the tremendous progress that has being recorded so far.
