ACPNThe Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, has declared Mr Abanitus Dangir as its presidential candidate for the 2015 elections.

The sole candidate from Taraba State had 100 delegates endorsing his nomination as the party’s flag bearer during its 2014 convention in Abuja.

The nomination and voting process that produced Mr Abanitus Dangir as the party’s presidential candidate saw delegates lining up one after the other behind him.

The National Chairman of the party, Olu Okunrinboye, had outlined the programmes of the party ahead of the election of its presidential flag bearer.

He said that the global economic downturn affecting the fortunes of Nigeria as a nation can be reversed if credible candidates who have the passion for the growth and development of Nigeria are elected to run its affairs.

Mr Okunriboye appealed to the Federal Government and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to provide a level-playing field for all political parties in the country.

Reacting to his emergence as the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Abanitus Dangir has promised to transform Nigeria if elected as the next president.

The ACPN, which was founded by the late Dr Olusola Saraki, would be contesting the presidential election for the first time.

The party would also be fielding governorship candidates in five states of the federation.
