PVCThe Kaduna state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) on Monday faulted the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the poor distribution of the Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) in the state, warning that no registered voter should be disenfranchised in the 2015 elections.

The party’s statement came on the heels of public outcry over the exercise which was characterized by hitches, thereby denying many registered voters their PVC.

In a statement issued by its chairman, Mr Bala Bantex, the party described the exercise as a total failure and accused INEC of colluding with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to disenfranchise majority of eligible voters particularly in the southern part of the state.

The APC warned that deliberately disenfranchising eligible voters from exercising their civic rights could lead to rancour and violence during the forthcoming general elections, stressing that the poor distribution of the PVC is an indication that the commission is not prepared for the exercise or is playing the script of the PDP led government.

APC also accused INEC officials of requesting for financial inducement from the poor masses before they will issue voters cards to them in some places.

The party further noted that the distribution of the PVC across the 23 local local government areas of the state has recorded little success, with many eligible voters yet to receive their cards ,more than five days after its commencement.

The party also noted that the exercise is yet to commence in some other local governments and urged INEC to reschedule the exercise to conform with the stipulated electoral guideline and ensure that the distribution is conducted at all polling units.
