The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has held a special ‘dedication of mandate’ service in Port Harcourt the state capital, committing his mandate to the hands of God.
The event was part of the build up to the race for political offices in the 2015 polls.
At the special service held on Sunday, Dr. Peterside told supporters that his desire to lead the state was driven by a commitment to expanding the economic opportunities in Rivers State.
The event was marked by prayers offered for divine affirmation of Dr. Peterside’s bid. He also offered praise to God, leading the choir.
Governor Chibuike Amaechi, who was present at the event, expressed confidence that the people and God were behind the APC flag bearer, who is likely his successor.
The incumbent governor of the state is also in firm support of Dr. Peterside’s bid and he believed that his successor in the APC remained the man to beat.
The assembled clergymen at the service held at the Obi Wali Conference Centre in Port Harcourt offered prayers for divine intervention.
The Rivers State governorship race is on and the candidates are certainly getting busy ahead of what promises to be an interesting contest.
