He beat the two other finalists Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer on Monday evening to win the coveted prize.
The world player of the year was announced at a ceremony in Zurich.
Colombian, James Rodriguez beat Robin van Persie and Ireland’s Stephanie Roche to win Goal of the Year.
Germany’s Nadine Kessler won the Women’s Player of the Year Award beating Brazil’s Marta and Abby Wambach of the United States.
All three Ballon d’Or finalists were picked in the Team of the Year.
Defenders, Phillip Lahm, David Luiz, Thiago Silva and Sergio Ramos; midfielders, Andres Iniesta, Toni Kroos and Angel Di Maria and forward Arjen Robben complete the list.
