The electoral commission in Nigeria says its has distributed over 84 per cent of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to registered voters in Niger State.
The spokesman for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mohammed Vaste, gave the breakdown to Channels Television in an exclusive interview on Monday.
Mr Vaste, however, mentioned that over one million PVCs have been distributed by the commission, and there were still a large number of cards yet to be received by their owners.
He also appealed to the electorates, who had fled the state, to return for their cards.
Some of the residents of the state had moved to other states due to infiltrations by the members of the Boko Haram terrorist group.
