maiduguriChairman of the Committee on the Allocation of Yerwa Peace Estate, Kaka Lawan said that at least 430 families of Boko Haram victims would now have new homes.

Boko Haram victims have become beneficiaries of the State government’s rehabilitation and resettlement programme.

Two years ago, residents of Ngrannam in the capital city were caught up in the cross fire between military forces and the insurgents leading to the loss of their homes.

Rubble and demolished houses is what is left of an area that before now, accommodated over 400 families in Maiduguri.
Ngarnam was taken over and occupied by insurgents for at least two years before federal troops and local vigilante engaged them in a battle.

The houses were demolished in the process and the original owners have remained homeless ever since.

They now have reasons to cheer as they have all been compensated with the new resettlement estate constructed by the State Government for victims of insurgency.

Officials carefully screen and validate prospective beneficiaries who are eager to finally have decent homes.
