Nigeria electionThe Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), a coalition of over 4,000 election observers across Nigeria, has deployed a quick count methodology for the Saturday’s elections.

According to the group’s Chairman, Ibrahim Zikirullahi, the elections results collation and counting method would rely on coded messages sent in by members who are observers, deployed to over 1,000 polling units across Nigeria.

Ibrahim also said the group had planned to give preliminary details of their observations to enable citizens verify results, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He further urged citizens to accept results that would be announced by the INEC, provided it falls within their findings.

However, the INEC had on Tuesday, accredited 107 domestic and international observer groups to monitor the general elections slated for March 28 and April 11, 2015.

Among the observer groups accredited were embassies of 11 foreign nations, 14 international and regional organisations, while the remaining 82 observers are domestic groups.
