Akwa IbomAkwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Mr Gabriel Achong, has called on parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their wards throughout the period of the election.

This, according to him, is to ensure that they are not used by desperate politicians to cause a breakdown of law and order.

The Police Commissioner made the call at a media briefing in Uyo on Friday.

While giving an assurance that the Police and other security agencies in the state were fully prepared for the elections, Mr Achong warned that the Police would deal with anyone who tries to cause trouble during the elections.

He further disclosed that his command has put in place over 25 striking units to ensure prompt action against troublemakers and warned that the restriction of movement order would be thoroughly enforced.

The CP also urged all eligible voters in Akwa Ibom to go out and exercise their civil responsibility as their security is guaranteed.
