RiversThe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set up a fact finding mission to look into the controversies trailing the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections in Rivers State.

This is according to a statement released by the commission on Monday evening.

The statement, posted on the commission’s official Twitter handle reads:

“Further to the allegation made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Rivers and it’s call for cancellation, INEC has set up a fact finding mission to ascertain the veracity of the claims and allegations and to advice the Commission.

“The Committee comprises of Mrs. Thelma Iremiren, Col. MK Hammanga and Prof. Lai Olurode.

“They have departed for Rivers and it is expected they will submit their report before the end of collation of general results.”

The commission stated that it would make its own decisions following the consideration of the report.
