Sunday, April 26, 04:45am: The Independent National Electoral Commission declares the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Okezie Ikpeazu, the winner of the Abia State governorship election.

-Sunday, April 26, 03:25am: The incumbent Governor of Imo State and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Rochas Okorocha, wins Imo State Governorship election, securing a second term in office. He polled 416,996 votes while the candidate of the Peoples Demcoratic Party, Mr Emeka Ihedioha got 320,705 votes.

INEC vows to bring perpetrators of electoral violence to justice.

INEC asks  aggrieved politicians to seek redress at the tribunal.

INEC to Investigate Violent Polls in Rivers, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, others.

INEC names Rivers, Akwa ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi and Ondo states as states that recorded significant number of violent incidents.

INEC’s records show that there were 66 reports of violent incidents targeted at polling units, the Commission’s officials, voters and election materials.

INEC says 88.9% of polling units opened for accreditation between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. across the country.

INEC says only 5.2%  of polling units were yet to open as of 1pm., and that, 73% of the polling units had commenced voting by 2.30 p.m

INEC says accreditation with Smart Card Readers were successful in  majority of the polling units.

Sunday, April 12, 2015: 1:30PM: Channels TV Correspondent reports that collation and announcement of election results is ongoing in Imo State and Governor Rochas Okorocha is in the lead, having won in 9 out of the 12 Local Government Areas already announced. Imo State has 27 LGs.

He won in 11 out of the 20 Local Government Areas of the state while the PDP’s Gboyega Isiaka won in 9.

Saturday, April 11, 2015: 04:24PM: Kelvin Obetan reports that in Abia State there had been a riot in Aba. People in the community did not allow INEC officials to set up because they demanded to know whether they had all electoral materials complete.

In other places visited, ballot boxes were snatched at the point of voting. People were also attacked by hoodlums allegedly supported by some senior members of the PDP in Mbutu Ward 3, Umuaja Ward 1, Unit 3.

Saturday, April 11, 2015: 04:04PM: The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, has described the elections as peaceful in spite of rumours of misconduct in some areas.

Olorogun O’tega expressed optimism in the results of the  polls while speaking to journalists after voting in unit 5 Evwreni Ughelli North LGA.

Saturday, April 11, 2015: 11:44AM: Channels TV Plateau State Correspondent, says the situation in Jos is calm as election materials were distributed early enough.

INEC officials were able to accredit voters on time with some of them being able to go back to their homes to return for the voting proper.

The card readers have been working perfectly as well but there were still few places where the card readers failed to work properly

Friday, April 10, 2015: 00:00hrs: Election campaigns officially close in Nigeria. Candidates vying for the governorship position in 29 states and House of Assembly seats in all 36 states are expected to stop every form of campaign. A violation of the order, as stipulated by the Electoral Act, attracts a fine of  500,000 Naira or 12 months imprisonment.
