The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Mr Abubarka Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the re-scheduled Lafia\Obi Federal Constituency in Nasarawa State.
Announcing the result on Sunday in Lafia, the state capital, the INEC Returning Officer said that Mr Abubarka polled a total of 59,599 votes to beat the incumbent, Mr Joseph Kigbu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 48,358 votes.
The election was declared inconclusive on March 29 following allegations of over voting in Ciroma ward. It was rescheduled for Saturday, April 18.
Meanwhile, Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-makura, at the presentation of Certificate of Return to all the winners at the general elections in the state, promised to sustain APC’s infrastructural development policy in the state.
