Capital OilCapital Oil is defying the directive by other fuel marketers insisting that they will not lift petroleum products except the federal government pays them the money they are owed.

The independent oil marketing company is pushing out 15 million litres to ease the situation across the country.

The Chairman of Capital Oil, Ifeanyi Ubah, told Channels Television that he wants national interest to prevail and is opening his depot for petrol lifting to commence immediately.

“We have a very good stock of product in our facility. Most of the products were brought in by PPMC and they have enough stock. I don’t understand why we shouldn’t be loading the product out.

“Its hardship on Nigerians and I don’t think that at this point in time our organisation should be part of any sabotage against the incoming government,” he said.

With Capital Oil commencing operation, if this goes on for the next nine days, 135 million litres would be available for consumers.

Meanwhile the NNPC also says it has about 36 million litres discharging currently.
