while leading some top government officials in the state on the visit, Governor Mimiko said that Akure, the Ondo State capital, south-west Nigeria, will soon become the number one nonstop tourism destination in Nigeria.

The International Events Centre otherwise known as ‘The Dome’, is strategically located in the main business and administrative hub of Ondo State close to the government and business offices in Akure

After being conducted around the complex by the site engineer, Adam Chandy, the Governor expressed satisfaction on the quality of job done.

He equally envisioned that the centre would be a global tourism destination alongside other tourism locations nearby, expressing optimism that it would impact positively on the socio-economic standards of the state.

However, the site engineer alongside a director in the company handling the project, Abolade Osoba, said that the project would be completed by September 2015, as it was about 80% completed.

The project which was awarded by the Governor Mimiko’s administration in 2009 is expected to be the biggest events centre in the state and even beyond.
