Delta State University Denies Ban Of Fellowship CentresThe management of Delta State University has denied the alleged ban of fellowship centres on its campus.

Reacting to the accusation on Tuesday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, the management explained that it had only streamlined the number of the fellowship centres.

The Dean of Students, Professor Timi Akpororho, noted that the move was as a result of the Senate’s decision to streamline such fellowship centres.

He explained that the decision was made due to the centres’ proliferation and attendant noise pollution, and also in line with the policy guiding students’ activities on campus.

The university authority had earlier enforced rules against indecent dressing of students on campus and its latest move to curtail the excesses of Christian fellowships has drawn varying reactions from students and lecturers.

While some students take it as a positive development, others see it in a different way.
